Brave1, Ukraine’s defense innovation cluster, has updated its grant program by identifying 53 priority areas for military technology development in cooperation with the country’s Defense Forces. The initiative aims to support projects that can strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities and deliver a technological advantage on the battlefield in the near term.
Grants ranging from UAH 500,000 to UAH 8 million will be available depending on the project’s technology readiness level. The funding will cover the entire development cycle, from validating an initial concept to building a prototype and conducting testing.
Brave1 is also launching the BraveTech EU program, focused on breakthrough defense technologies. Under the initiative, developers will be eligible for grants of up to UAH 8 million regardless of their project’s development stage, provided the outcome is a working prototype.
Priority areas include exoskeletons, casualty evacuation drones, active protection systems, high-speed strike capabilities, lightweight torpedoes, bunker-penetrating munitions, and other critical defense technologies.
In addition, Brave1 plans to announce new grant competitions with a total budget exceeding UAH 100 million. These calls will support the development of humanoid robots, aerobuggies, counter-guided bomb systems, laser-based air defense technologies, and advanced radar systems. Humanoid robots are expected to help automate high-risk frontline operations, reducing risks to Ukrainian service members.
