Destinus has completed flight tests of the new Ukrainian cruise missile Ruta Block 2, which features a number of significant improvements compared to previous versions. According to the developers, the missile is capable of striking targets at a range of up to 700 km and carries a 250 kg warhead.
One of the key innovations is a modern guidance system incorporating elements of artificial intelligence. It enables the missile to analyze its flight path, adjust its trajectory in real time, and maintain effectiveness even under conditions of active electronic warfare.
The developers also focused on reducing the missile’s detectability by air defense systems. Thanks to its design features and the use of stealth technologies, the chances of successfully penetrating enemy air defenses are significantly increased.
Another important feature of the Ruta Block 2 is its folding wings, which allow the missile to be launched from mobile container-based launch systems. After launch, the wings deploy in flight. This design simplifies transport of the system, increases its concealment, and enables rapid relocation of launch positions.
The combination of a 700 km range, a powerful warhead, an intelligent guidance system, and high mobility makes the Ruta Block 2 one of the most promising examples of Ukrainian precision-guided weaponry. The project demonstrates the rapid development of Ukraine’s missile technologies and its ability to produce modern systems for long-range strike missions.
