Ukraine calls on the European Union to build a strategic partnership in the security and financial sectors.
Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga has invited EU countries to invest in a new Ukrainian air defense system currently being developed by national enterprises. This is a domestic analog of the US Patriot system, the creation of which was previously confirmed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and later by Minister of Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin. This step is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the country’s defense capabilities and develop its own defense industry.
In parallel, Ukraine is working on integration into the EU’s long-term financial mechanisms. Deputy Minister of Finance for European Integration Yuriy Draganchuk stated that Ukraine should be included in the EU’s Multiannual Financial Framework for 2028-2034 (MFF). He emphasized that even during a full-scale war, the state continues reforms, but economic stability requires predictable and long-term financial support from European partners.
Draganchuk also called on the EU to more actively promote the legal mechanism for the full confiscation of frozen Russian assets to be used for the reconstruction of Ukraine, which would signal fairness and consistency in the West’s actions.
