Ukraine will produce weapons abroad, investments in the defense industry will reach $43 billion

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is actively developing international cooperation in the defense industry.

Ukraine is already negotiating the launch of arms production abroad – in particular, agreements have been reached with Denmark, Norway, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Lithuania. Agreements on controlled exports of Ukrainian military technologies are expected to be signed this summer.

The volume of investments in the domestic defense industry in 2025 will amount to $43 billion. These funds are used not only to modernize production but also to launch new projects with international partners, including in the production of drones, ammunition, and artillery. According to Zelenskyy, this year Ukraine has contracted a record number of drones and artillery systems.

In addition, the President said that the government has been tasked with obtaining a commitment from its allies to allocate at least 0.25% of their GDP to support Ukraine’s defense capabilities. In his opinion, this will strengthen the security not only of our country but also of the whole of Europe.

Ukraine is also increasing production of interceptor drones to combat enemy UAVs. Already, four Ukrainian companies are producing such drones, which have successfully shot down dozens of Shaheds.

Against this background, international partners are also stepping up their support for Ukraine. The American company Raytheon, one of the world’s leading arms manufacturers, will continue to invest in the European production of air defense systems, including Patriot, and will develop cooperation with Ukrainian and European defense companies.

Recently, I mentioned that Germany is allocating 400 million euros to co-finance three drone production projects that are already underway.
