Berlin will finance three Ukrainian drone production projects.
These are initiatives that have been implemented in Ukraine for some time and will now receive additional impetus thanks to German funding.
This was reported by Nico Lange, a German military expert and senior researcher at the Munich Security Conference. According to him, Germany is allocating 400 million euros to co-finance three drone production projects that are already underway.
“These are not new projects; they are not copying Taurus or anything like that… These are three projects that have been going on for some time, and now they can continue more efficiently because they will be allocated €400 million,” Lange explained.
He emphasized that investments in drone production are part of a broader strategy to support Ukraine. In his opinion, this will significantly accelerate the development and implementation of modern technologies in the Ukrainian army.
“Ukrainian specialists are very professional and inventive, their developments are impressive. With the help of German money, Ukrainian weapons and technologies can achieve even more,” the expert said.
Lange also emphasized that support for Ukraine’s defense sector is not only about supplying weapons, but also about creating new industrial partnerships that will help develop the defense industry in Ukraine. This makes it possible not only to supply the Armed Forces, but also to create jobs, strengthen technological independence and export ready-made solutions.
“Investing in the Ukrainian defense sector is the right way to go. More can be done in this direction,” Lange concluded.
We recently wrote about how Germany assured that it would continue to provide military assistance to Ukraine. And Chancellor Friedrich Merz is convinced that the pressure on Russia will increase. This became known after the G7 summit.
